When I bought my used 01 Honda Accord it came with a remote door lock thingie. It lights up when the button is pressed it just doesn't work. I guess something just isn't connected to something...

Well where can I take my car? Can a normal mechanic fix this? Thank you...hope this isn't confusing.

hi the best thing to do is take it back to your local dealer and have them fix it becuase even though it will be expensive its probably worth it

First off check the battery, like the person above me suggested. If that doesn't work you may need to have your key fob reprogrammed at the dealership ( the fob is the keychain part with the buttons on it).

Have you changed the battery? Key chain remotes require
a small battery. It could be dead. Most places that sell
    watch batteries will carry it.

Ok once you put in the new battery the remote will need to be reprogrammed a honda dealer may charge you for this or if you have the owners manual it may cover what you need to do
